Denstone College Named Finalist in the SACPA Awards 2025!
Denstone College is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Safeguarding and Child Protection Association (SACPA) Awards 2025, in the prestigious Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding category. This recognition celebrates the College’s exceptional pastoral provision and its all-through approach to wellbeing education, spanning from Reception to Sixth Form.
At the heart of Denstone’s success lies a distinctive and comprehensive wellbeing journey, delivered through a carefully designed PSHE and pastoral curriculum. The programme includes wellbeing lessons, behavioural interventions, and tutor group sessions such as In the News, each crafted to nurture personal growth, resilience, and empathy across all year groups.
The nomination acknowledges the collective efforts of staff across both the Prep School and the College, whose professionalism, care, and expertise ensure that safeguarding and wellbeing remain central to every pupil’s experience.
A special mention goes to Davinia Harrington-Buswell, Denstone’s outstanding Prep School Wellbeing Lead, whose energy, compassion, and creativity ensure that wellbeing is not simply taught, but lived each day by the youngest members of the community. Her work continues to shape the College’s ethos and set an exceptional benchmark for pastoral care.
Denstone College extends its sincere thanks to every member of staff who contributes to the delivery of its extensive wellbeing curriculum. Being recognised nationally for its commitment to safeguarding is both a proud moment and a reaffirmation of the College’s mission: to foster an environment in which every pupil feels safe, supported, and able to flourish.
