We're Finalists! 

The Prep at Denstone College has been shortlisted for the Tes Awards 2025

The UK’s best teachers and schools have been shortlisted for this year’s Tes Schools Awards – often referred to as the ‘Oscars of education’ – which celebrate excellence across the education sector. The Prep at Denstone College is proud to have been named a finalist in the prestigious Independent Prep School of the Year category.

At the heart of The Prep’s success is its strong relational approach. Led by Head Liz Scott, the dedicated teaching team places the building of meaningful, positive relationships at the centre of every child’s learning journey. This nurturing ethos underpins an educational experience designed to support individual growth and development. By fostering a safe, inclusive environment and encouraging curiosity through exploratory learning, The Prep inspires pupils to become confident, lifelong learners who feel truly valued.

The Tes Schools Awards recognise the very best teachers and schools from UK state and independent schools, across early years settings, primary and secondary.

An expert panel of judges comprised of leaders in education selected a shortlist for 22 categories. Jon Severs, Editor of Tes Magazine, said: “We’ve seen some incredible entries nominated in this year’s awards. The Tes Schools Awards are a highlight of the year, and it’s important that we properly recognise the fantastic work that's been done in education across the academic year.”

Winners will be announced on 20th June at a glittering gala at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane, London.
